Welcome to School And Community Nutrition

The Division of School and Community Nutrition  provides technical assistance, training and reimbursement to some 1032 sponsors of the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Special Milk Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program and the Summer Food Service Program for Children.

On the average day, some 231,182 breakfasts, 541,721 lunches, 2,478 suppers, and 50, 283 snacks are served to Kentucky children.

Public and private schools, residential child care institutions, for-profit and non-profit child care centers, family day care homes and local government and non-profit agencies play a vital role in the physical and mental development of our most precious resource: our children.

The role of the School and Community Nutrition division is  to help sponsors provide the best, most nutritious meals to children.
